Why Holex Chose Emporix to Take Manual Checks Out of Flower Export

A flower cut in Ecuador has a few days to be sold, packed, flown and put on a florist's counter, and the assortment it is sold from shifts by the hour. If a buyer orders against figures that are already out of date, someone has to call back with a correction, and with a product that lasts days, a correction can cost the sale. That is why we are especially pleased that Holex, a flower exporter with more than 40 years in the trade, has chosen Emporix Autonomous Commerce Execution, and why it is the first customer we are announcing in the Netherlands.

Flower Export Is One of the Most Demanding Tests for B2B Commerce

Holex is part of Dutch Flower Group and has been exporting flowers and greenery from Aalsmeer for more than 40 years. It sources from growers on several continents and ships by air through its hubs in Aalsmeer, Miami, Quito, Kunming and Shanghai to wholesale florists, online resellers, importers and distributors around the world.

Few B2B businesses combine as many moving parts. The product stays fresh for only a few days, the assortment changes constantly, and stock moves through five hubs on three continents. Holex's customers rely on seeing exactly what is available and what it costs at the moment they order. When that information sits in several systems and has to be checked by hand before it reaches the buyer, the business is only as fast as the person doing the checking.

How Autonomous Commerce Execution Keeps Availability and Pricing Accurate for Holex

This is the kind of operation we built Autonomous Commerce Execution for. Autonomous Commerce Execution is an operating model in which commerce processes observe, decide and act across the systems a business already runs (ERP, pricing, inventory, fulfilment and service) without waiting for a human to trigger each step. People stay in the loop for the decisions that need judgement.

At Holex, Emporix Value Streams will connect the core systems the company already runs so that they work from the same data, rather than replacing them. Live availability and dynamic pricing then reach buyers automatically, and the setup is designed to lower total cost of ownership. The project also covers a modernised storefront and search, streamlined sales processes and customer communication on the Emporix ACE platform, and distribution across Holex's hubs in Europe, the Americas and Asia.

For Holex, the case comes down to speed and accuracy:

"In the fast-moving floral export business, speed and accuracy are everything. Because our fresh products stay optimal for only a few days, our buyers worldwide depend on instant, 100% reliable visibility into live inventory and pricing. Partnering with SQLI to implement Emporix Autonomous Commerce Execution allows us to seamlessly orchestrate our existing systems. It ensures pricing and availability reach our customers accurately without manual checks along the way, helping us deliver an unmatched B2B buying experience."

Built With SQLI, Dutch Flower Group's Digital Commerce Partner

Our partner SQLI, already the digital commerce partner of Dutch Flower Group, is leading the implementation. SQLI has published its own announcement of the Holex project.

Over the past year we have been building partnerships across the Benelux, and it means a lot to the whole team to see that work lead to a customer like Holex. Read more about Emporix in the Benelux. Thank you to everyone at Holex for their trust, and to the SQLI team for building this with us.

What Holex Shows About the Next Phase of B2B Commerce

Holex sells a product that will not wait, to buyers who will not wait either. For any B2B supplier whose prices and stock move faster than its people can check them, accurate availability and pricing at the moment of ordering becomes the baseline for keeping a customer, not a feature. The suppliers who get there first will be the ones whose systems do the checking, so their people can spend their time on the customers and decisions that need them. We look forward to showing what Holex and SQLI build together.
